KTM 690 Supermoto and 690 Duke get the MCN treatment
MCN Road Tester Adam Child is out in Spain riding KTM’s all-new three-bike 690cc LC4 range.
There’s the new 690 Enduro, 690 SMC Supermoto and 690 Duke.
Here’s his impressions and latest pictures after day two of the test.
“The SMC Supermoto shares the same engine and lots of the characteristics of the Enduro I rode yesterday, such as the underseat petrol tank.
“This competition-based bike is so much fun to ride with a really punchy engine makes any short journey a joy.
“I’ve also now ridden the striking-looking 690 Duke. This too has similarities with the Enduro and the SMC but has a different exhaust system and the fuel tank is more conventional.
“On paper it looks good and in the flesh it looks even better. In fact it feels like a small 990 Super Duke. The most impressive feature of it is the single-cylinder engine which could easily be mistaken for a twin as it’s got so much power.”
Adam Child’s full report on these two motorcycles, and on the 690 Enduro he rode earlier in the week, will be in next week’s MCN (February 13, 2008).
