2010 BMW R1200GS Adventure first impressions: 'It gets the kick it has been missing'

MCN editor Marc Potter has just stopped for a brief rest on the launch of the new BMW R1200GS Adventure in the Malaga area of Spain. Here are his initial impressions.

“I’ve just covered 30 miles on the 2010 adventure, and it benefits from the same power upgrade as the R1200RT and the R1200GS which puts it on 110 horse power.

“Despite its extra bulk the 2010 R1200GS adventure gets the kick it has been missing for the past couple of years. The adventure is never going to feel nimble, but on motorways, where you used to be searching for power to overtake the bike’s extra mid-range means you are no-longer changing down to fifth gear for an extra boost of power.

“The adventure now has the grunt to match its incredible mileage covering ability and 300 mile tank range. We have another day of and a half or riding on a mixture of the bikes so read the full report in MCN next week.”
