Suzuki GSR750 first ride: "It's dead easy to ride"

Published: 16 March 2011

MCN Senior Road Tester Adam Child is currently testing Suzuki’s all-new GSR750 roadster near Seville in southern Spain. This is what he has to say so far:

“First impressions are good. The styling is really nice, the engine’s based on the old 2005 GSX-R750K5 but retuned to give more bottom end and midrange and it’s pretty light, too – only 2kg heavier than the old GSR600 which it replaces.

“It’s also dead easy to ride with a typically smooth Suzuki gearchange and good fuelling – it’s a doddle around town. All of which, for a price just under £7000 plus on the road charges sounds like Suzuki could be onto a winner.

“The only slight doubt at this stage is about its performance. I’ve only ridden it briefly so far, with plenty of town work, but, with exactly the same claimed 105bhp as the Yamaha FZ8 and Kawasaki Z750R, it's not clear yet how it'll match up. Hopefully we’ll find out later.”
