We will be testing BMW’s eagerly-anticipated G310 GS tomorrow.
On sale for £5,100, the A2 licence-friendly, entry-level, single-cylinder 313cc GS shares the same engine as their current G310R roadster, which means 33.5bhp @9500rpm and 20.7ftlb of torque at 7500rpm.
The unique reverse cylinder design continues with its inlet at the front and exhaust exiting from the rear. This allows the engine to be mounted further forward in the chassis.
The new baby GS is designed and engineered in Munich but produced by BMW’s partner TVS in India. Although many parts are shared with the G310R the suspension and wheels are new. It has a 19in front (the R has 17in) and for enhanced off-road capabilities the suspension travel has increased from 49mm to 180mm.
