Take one Monster and add £6000 of Gallic flair

DUCATI specialist Desmo Shop has employed all its engineering skill and used thousands of pounds-worth of carbon-fibre to create this year 2000 Monster 900-based special.

The anodised blue frame, calipers, lines and disc rotors may not be to everyone’s taste, but the stunning transformation of the rear may interest Monster owners. Desmo Shop has bolted an MV Agusta carbon single seat unit to a modified version of the original sub-frame, then added high-level Spark cans.

Unsurprisingly for a firm specialising in composites, there is a host of weight-saving parts. As well as the usual mudguards and belly pan, the fuel tank is carbon, as are the air scoops, which sit on the left-hand side of the bike between the rails of the steel trellis chassis.

The footrests are also made out of the lightweight material too.

Paioli upside-down forks and an Ohlins rear shock, as well as Marvic wheels and a hand-made braced swingarm, sharpen the handling.

A new headlight fairing and clip-ons complete the look.
