BMW K1200R launched

1 of 1

BMW has revealed an all-new 167bhp naked bike based on the K1200S - the K1200R.

It was shown for just a few hours on Tuesday afternoon (Sep 14) at the Munich bike show. It was then whisked away and was not on public display when the show opened to the public on Wednesday. It will go into production in the second half of next year.

The S version of the bike makes 167bhp and the new bike will get exactly the same engine in the same state of tune - which should make for an interesting naked experience...

Here are the world´s first pictures - expect to see more and read full details in the issue of MCN out on Wednesday, September 22.

BMW also revealed that it would be ceasing production of its R series custom bikes. It says the 1200 twin engine it uses hasn´t got the torque to take on rivals anymore.
