Touring MZ revealed

MZ has launched a new touring version of the 1000S offering a more comfortable and practical package for long distance riding.

The 1000ST SuperTraveller is basically the same as the 1000S but gets comfier seats, a raised screen and bars and lowered footpegs for a more relaxed ride. The motor is treated to the same torque-biased tune that it gets in the 1000SF naked bike, so it is better suited to pulling more weight.

The clutch has also has a bit of special treatment with MZ claiming that new springs mean that the leaver is now 20 per cent easier to pull.

The specially-designed pannier and top-box system can carry up to 120 litres of kit and a steering damper has been added to keep the bike under control should the front end lighten when full laden with luggage and pillion.

The bike will be available in Germany from May, priced at 10,290 Euro (£7000) and the firm is planning for it to be available in the UK shortly after.
