Video: KTM 950SM

MCN road tester Adam Child has just got back from the world launch of the new KTM 950SM and we grabbed him to get his first impressions.

“The 950SM is like no other supermoto,” said Chad. “They just don’t compare. Normal Supermotos are 600cc singles that are fun up to 60-70mph and run out of steam at 100mph, but the new KTM just keeps on going.

“It’s more like riding a Aprilia Tuono or Ducati S4R and it will keep up with those kind of bikes all day.

“The riding position is also very similar to the naked bikes but it is just a lot thinner and lighter than any of them and a bit more upright.”

The bike uses the engine from the popular 950 Adventure and puts it in a proper supermoto package making a very quick and nimble bike that you can’t decide whether to put your knee down or your foot out. It comes with fully adjustable WP suspension as well.

The 950SM should arrive in the UK sometime in June and will cost £7995.
