Harley's XL1200N

1 of 3

Harley-Davidson has revealed its new XL1200N Nightster – a stripped-back Sportster aimed at traditional custom fans.

Based on the latest 2007 Sportster, the Nightster combines the big 1200cc Evolution V-twin with a seat that’s even lower than the Sportster 1200 Low’s, just 642mm off the ground.

The Nightster gets black wheel rims and hubs, with chrome spokes, along with black coating on the forks, headlight and bars.

The belt drive guard and front mudguard clamps are given a “bullet hole” drilled finish.

The retro looks continue with a side-mounted numberplate bracket and old-fashioned fork gaiters.

The minimalist looks extend to the mechanical parts, with very little chrome and a new grey finish on the engine, transmission and airbox.

Initially, the bike is only to be sold in the US market, but a European version is due later this year.

Prices will be revealed when the bike becomes available over here.
