It's official - Triumph Street Triple Revealed

1 of 1

The worst-kept secret in motorcycling has finally been made official – Triumph is to offer a naked version of the Daytona 675 later this year.

Forget computer-generated images you may have seen in other magazines, this is the first official photograph of the firm’s new Street Triple 675.

Looking exactly like the bike revealed in MCN’s spyshots last week, the official picture shows the Street Triple is more than just a naked Daytona, with extensive modifications including new forks, brakes and a completely restyled rear end. This provides better pillion comfort and gives a family resemblance to the bigger Speed Triple.

Triumph has yet to reveal detailed specifications, but the engine is understood to be retuned for more torque and slightly less power than the Daytona, with a peak output of around 108bhp. The massive rear sprocket hints at the reworked gearing, which insiders say turns the Street Triple into a hooligan’s dream of a wheelie machine.

The firm has revealed that in Europe, the bike will cost less than 8000 Euros (£5450), but won’t reveal the rest of the specs until it makes its world debut at the Tridays festival in Neukirchen, Germany, on June 30.
