First new Norton delivered to customer

1 of 1

The first new production Norton in a generation was handed to its new owner last Friday, with further deliveries taking place throughout this week.

The limited edition Commando 961 SE was eagerly received by rider Jonathan Hewitt, 51, of Grimsby who described the experience as a “great honour”. The keys were personally handed over by Norton boss Stuart Garner.

Garner told MCN; “The significance of handing over the first bike hasn’t quite hit me yet, it’s fantastic.

“We’ve got another historic British motorcycle manufacturer back. Now Norton can hopefully build and grow, get some strength into the brand, get some more models and grow the Norton platform. It’s great for British motorcycling”.

As our picture shows, Norton is currently working flat out to fulfil deliveries of the 200 limited edition SE models scheduled for release.

UK orders are being fulfilled first, with spin-off versions to follow in the spring.
