Ducati Diavel is MCN's Machine of the Year

The rule-changing Ducati Diavel has scooped Machine of the Year in the prestigious 2011 MCN Awards.

The awards were presented earlier this evening at a glittering dinner where the cream of the motorcycle industry met with senior members of the MCN team.

The 162bhp Diavel redefined the cruiser class in 2011 with unprecedented performance and handling. MCN Editor and head of the awards judging panel Marc Potter was blown away when he rode it.

He said: “There was no hesitation here because I’ve never known a bike exceed expectations by such a huge margin. It has massive presence as a cruiser and should clearly appeal in an entirely new market for Ducati, yet the performance is epic and the feel of the bike is fabulous.”

The Diavel fought off tough competition from BMW’s new six-cylinder tourer, the K1600GT, to take the UK’s most coveted motorcycle award.
