Ducati Scrambler Production Begins

Ducati have today started the first full production run of the all-new Scrambler model at the Bologna factory in Italy.

The bike has entered production just six months after the new model was presented to Ducati employees when a bike was inside a locked, yellow shipping container and they were allowed a sneak preview of the bike.

The bike features an 803cc air-cooled V-twin motor with 75bhp and is aimed at keeping the riding experience simple and easy to use for novice riders yet still fun enough for more experienced riders.

The first bikes off the line was greeted by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, together with Silvano Fini, Manager of the Borgo Panigale plant.

“This first bike is particularly meaningful to us”, commented Claudio Domenicali. “With its ‘Land of Joy’ theme, the Ducati Scrambler brand will be bringing a breath of fresh air and fun to dealerships and will provide a great product that combines modernity with heritage in a way never before seen in the motorcycle industry, a fact that fills us with enormous satisfaction and pride”.

The Ducati Scrambler will be in dealerships at the end of January in its Icon version. MCN will be testing the Scrambler within a matter of days at the world launch in America.
