Can-Am have just released details of their new-for-2017 Spyder F3-S ‘Daytona 500’ edition. This new model has been designed and developed by BRP’s engineers to meet the need for a more sporty-inspired vehicle in their range of eccentric three-wheelers.

The rest of the range hasn’t been ignored either, with new riding modes and colour options to its F3-S, F3-T, RT-S and RT Limited models for the 2017 model year.

The F3-S ‘Daytona 500’ edition differs in its styling by the addition of black stripes and a Daytona 500 logo; gauge spoiler; super sport front grill; 6-spoke deep black high gloss front wheels, and mono seat cowl and drag style handlebars as standard – all designed to boost the vehicle’s aggressive stance out on the road.

The F3-S has a new SPORT mode that assists in providing a more focused ride, and deactivates the traction control system (TCS) allowing riders to drivf the back end without losing vehicle stability. It is available in pure magnesium metallic, oxford blue metallic and circuit yellow metallic colour options. The new circuit yellow frame comes as standard on the Pure Magnesium Metallic and Circuit Yellow colour options.

Paul Wood, Cam-Am commercial manager UK and Ireland, said: “Can-Am’s engineers are implementing a mixture of sports and luxury options, so that users have the best possible product at their disposal. These elements will enable riders to select the right Spyder for their requirements to ensure they reap the benefits when they are out on the road.”

It’s black and white (or gold)

The 2017 F3-T
range is available in monolith black satin and pearl white and offers riders a more touring-oriented ride, blending the open-air freedom of a motorbike with the comfort and handling expected from an open-top sportscar.

For the road, the vehicle is fitted with industry-leading Dynamic Power Steering (DPS), electronic cruise control, ECO mode smart assist system, BRP’s exclusive UFit system for rider foot pegs and handlebars, and manually-adjustable rear air suspension that the user can easily change depending on the terrain. It also boasts a four-speaker audio system and integrated hard-side luggage providing riders with 78litres of storage.

Meanwhile, the RT-S and RT Limited
are now available in champagne metallic or pearl white, with luxury touches like an electrically adjustable screen, premium saddle and backrest, and Garmin Zumo 590 GPS – along with chrome accents, 12-Spoke chrome wheels, increased luggage capacity and automatic rear air suspension adjustment.

All models are powered by the high-torque Rotax 1330 ACE in-line triple engine is available on both models. Its six-speed transmission utilises a cutting-edge clutch-activation system and the ECO mode smart-assist to enable a range of up to 252 miles on a single tank of fuel.
