BMW are set to release two versions of their electric C Evolution scooter; one with an extended range and one restricted for A1 licence holders, both of which will use the same batteries as the BMW i3 electric car.
The new Long Range gets an 11bhp (8kW) increase in power, with the range extended to 160km (99 miles), a significant improvement over the 62 mile range of the current model. Top speed is electronically limited to 80mph.
The Europe-only A1 licence version has power capped to 15bhp (11kW) and has the same 62 mile range as the current model. Top speed is limited to 74mph.
The C evolution is also due to be launched in the USA, Japan, South Korea and Russia. BMW has not yet released a launch date or price for the two models, although the current model is priced at £13,500.
