Stealth cruiser incoming | LiveWire launch laid-back S2 Mulholland electric bike

1 of 6

Milwaukee electric motorcycle brand, LiveWire have launched a £17,890 S2 Mulholland cruiser, set to arrive in European dealerships imminently.

The bike is based on the firm’s existing S2 range, which also features the £17,590-on S2 Del Mar (MCN’s 2024 Electric Bike of the Year), plus a £17,390 S2 Alpinista that was revealed in just January of this year.

As before, the Mulholland is powered by a 10.5kWh lithium battery pack, with a claimed 121 miles of city range, or 73 miles on the highway. That second figure comes at a sedate 55mph though, so expect that figure to drop on UK motorways.

Power sits at a claimed 83bhp, with a hefty 194lb.ft of torque on tap.

Both level one and two charging are available, equating to a claimed 20%-80% recharge time of 5.9hrs (L1) or a shorter 78 minutes (L2).

Besides the name, what really sets the Mulholland apart from its siblings is the riding position and stance of the bike – sporting more of a sports cruiser side profile thanks to six-inch handlebar risers, plus bars that are higher and further back than before.

Unlike the dual 19in rims on the Del Mar, and 17in pair on the Alpinista, the Mulholland gets a 19in front and 17in rear, shod with Dunlop Roadsmart IV tyres to really lean into that sports cruiser appeal.

As well as producing no emissions at the tailpipe (because there isn’t one) LiveWire have employed a use of greener materials in areas including the bodywork, and seat.

The front and rear fenders, for example, are made of a CAP Hemp bio-composite, and the radiator shrouds and wiring caddies made from a material sourced from discarded ocean fishing nets. The seat is also produced using seat using petroleum-free, recyclable silicon.

Accessories include soft and hard bags, plus a pillion seat and pegs.
