A year on from appearing as a concept bike at the 2023 EICMA trade show in Milan, the Zontes ZT-703F three-cylinder adventure bike is finally due in UK dealers from April.

It’s one of three new models powered by a 699cc Euro5+ liquid-cooled SOHC triple, and produces a claimed 93.9bhp at 10,000rpm. It shares its engine platform with a 703RR sportsbike, and 703T road-biased tourer with 17in wheels, however neither of these machines are yet ready for production.

The engine is the first triple to be used by the brand and comes protected by an underslung bash plate, and finished with an upswept right-side mounted single exhaust can.

Built in China and distributed in the UK by Clements Moto, we’re told the first batch of bikes are likely to appear in dealers from the end of March to the second week of April – depending on the shipping – with an initial launch price of £6999 plus on the road charges.

Those wanting to spec their bike with additional accessory crash bars, three-piece aluminium luggage, auxiliary lights, and more can do so as an additional £999 bundle.

The 703 will move the brand in a new direction in the UK, with past offerings in the UK typically found in the 125-350cc categories at the budget end of the spectrum.

That’s not to say this new triple is expensive though, with the sub-£7k base price undercutting even the cheapest of offerings from the well-established competition, including the £8399 Suzuki V-Strom 650.

Away from the price and performance figures, the Zontes benefits from a 22-litre fuel tank (including 4.9l reserve) and a seat height of 845mm. There’s a set of spoked wheels too, comprised of a 21in front and 18in rear option – with a disc brake set up and ABS at both ends.

The motor is also held in place by a die-cast aluminium frame and subframe, with the exposed lattice swingarm bearing more than a passing resemblance to KTM’s mid-sized Adventure models.

Up front you’ll find fully adjustable upside-down forks, with a the single monoshock also allowing for changes to all parameters – including a remote preload adjuster.
