Devil in the detail: Harley-Davidson reveal Low Rider El Diablo limited edition

1 of 4

Harley-Davidson have revealed a new £25,495 Low Rider El Diablo cruiser, which builds on the existing Low Rider ST as a limited-run slice of candy red Americana.

With just 1500 units being produced, the glossy livery is applied by Colorado firm Gunslinger Custom Paint and includes a base layer of ‘El Diablo Bright Red’, before a second coat of ‘Bright Red Sunglo.’ From there, features include bright red pinstriping on the lockable saddlebags, tank sides, fenders and fairing.

An additional gold pinstripe is then hand applied to the panels as a finishing touch, which contrasts against the blackened 1923cc V-twin motor, front end, and exhaust. The cast aluminium 19in front and 16in rear rims are then finished in a matte bronze.

Alongside new paint, the El Diablo gets a range of factory-fitted audio developed between Harley-Davidson and Rockford Fosgate.

Connecting to your phone via Bluetooth to play stored and streamed audio, you get a pair of 5.25in woofers, plus a 250-watt amplifier mounted within the fairing.

Brad Richards, Harley’s Vice President of Design and Creative Director said: “It embodies the spirit of counterculture in Southern California in the ’80s in a contemporary package that features meticulously crafted custom paint, including pinstripe trajectories that nod directly to those of the original FXRT.”

Away from this, using the Low Rider ST as a base means you also get 125lbft of torque at just 3500rpm, as well as dual counter-balancers in the engine to help reduce vibration at idle and improved rider comfort.

You’ll also find 43mm upside down forks, dual front disks, LED head and tail lights, ABS, and cruise control. Want one? You can register your interest at the Harley-Davidson website now.
