With so many bikers making the Peaks their mecca (and for good reason!), it’s hardly surprising that there are a handful of epic Pit Stops nearby, and one of them is the infamous Yondermann Café, which has been serving hungry bikers for decades.

“This café had already been open for 40 years or so,” says co-owner Charlotte Higgins. “The previous owners had it for 10 years, and we’ll have had it for seven, and they built it up to be a very well-known biker café.

In the summer, we’ll get groups of up to 200 bikers turning up at once and have videos of cars getting stuck in the car park because there are so many bikes!”

“It had a huge following for bikers before we took over,” adds co-owner Ed Bishop, “we’re just trying to push that on and expand it even further.”

Beginning with breakfast, the menu has ballooned under the couple’s care, using their expertise in hospitality to bring burgers, fried chicken and specials to the masses. Everything is as local as they can make it, and when the doors are open with bikes in the car park, it’s just a nice place to be.

“It’s a pretty buzzing place”, says Ed. “We have fantastic views and the roads that bikers love around here. We’re so fortunate to have this location, and I think it’s a great spot for people to come and ride to.”
