Ease of mounting: Good range of mounts but all sold as extra parts, tripod thread
Quality: Superb quality image
Sound: Good, sharp sound
Best for: Those looking for ultimate control and a professional image. The Sony is the professional choice here.
Its ability to control settings (exposure and white balance) manually is a real benefit to those serious about getting the best possible footage, although this complicates things for most of us. It needs its bulky casing to be waterproof. Superb image quality and deals with contrast well. Wrist mounted remote with liveview is really useful.
Ease of use: 7/10
Ease of mounting: 6/10
