Boot review: TCX Comp 2 boots

1 of 1

Best thing about it: They’re worn by multiple Dakar winner Cyril Despres so their pedigree is undoubted. These are not a full-on MX boot, but make a brilliant road boot for the GS man generation.

They’re bulky but a brilliant winter boot, breathable and warm with a thick pair of socks under them. They’re waterproof too, unless the water goes over the top. And they’re all over the place at £200 so well worth a look.

Worst thing about it: They take quite a long time to get on in the morning until you get used to them, and you look like GS man, but if you can live with that, fine. But you will have to move your gear lever otherwise you can’t get your toe underneath.

Stars (out of five): ****
