Product review: TCX Hero waterproof boots

1 of 1

I tested these TCX Hero waterproof boots (£169.99), in vintage Brown, for three months across 2500 miles.

Here's how I got on...

What’s good?

These boots were a great fit straight out of the box with no breaking-in required. The styling looks good both on and off the bike and they’re solid and well made, with protection in the right areas. You get a really grippy sole and the side zip makes it easy to take them on and off without having to bother with the laces.

Alongside commutes and longer weekend rides, they’ve also coped easily with three long days at motorcycle festivals and a weekend trip to Paris and back in 37 degree heat, staying comfortable throughout. I’ve ridden through showers and steady rain and so far they’ve lived up to their waterproof credentials.

What’s not?

I’ve got no complaints. Although they are towards the higher end of the scale price-wise for urban-style boots, the quality and performance doesn’t disappoint.
