“They’re ideal if you spend your time flying across town with the hems of your protective riding jeans flapping in the breeze.”
Time tested two months/1500 miles
These sporty shortie boots have been designed with commuters in mind. They’re ideal if, like me, you spend your time flying across town with the hems of your protective riding jeans flapping in the breeze. Looking a lot like race car driving booties, the TCX pack protection at the toe, heel and ankle, and feel reassuringly supportive without affecting off-bike comfort. The sole is non-slip even when wet, and there’s the reassurance of a built-in waterproof lining too. The boots have so far kept my feet dry in a shower, but I haven’t worn them in any heavier weather – and, in all honesty, would be unlikely to. They look cool, are a decent price and feel protective.
Motorcycle boots with laces scare me – I have flashbacks to riding my BMX as a child and remember the terror of having my undone laces wrap themselves and my foot tight around the pedal. I imagine it happening on a motorbike, only worse…
