Product review: TCX Spoke waterproof boots

I tested these TCX Spoke waterproof boots (RRP £119.99) over four months, covering 4000 miles.

Here's how I got on...

What’s good?

These are among the most comfortable boots I’ve worn. I’ll happily keep them on for the day once I’ve arrived somewhere if I can’t fit a change of shoes in my luggage. In fact, in three days traipsing around Silverstone for the Formula 1, they were perfectly comfortable as they are quite lightweight and easy to move around in.

They’re easy to put on and take off thanks to the Velcro straps and they look quite neat for a touring boot. I’m not great at getting round to cleaning my kit, but they still look quite new so have taken the abuse of daily riding in all conditions well.

What’s not so good?

I’ve had a few issues with the waterproof-ness of these boots. While the Spokes can handle a bit of light rain, as soon as things get heavy the waterproof lining seems to give up.
