Product Review: SubZero Down bodywarmer
SubZero Down bodywarmer £109.99
Tester: Andy Davidson
Time tested: Three months/3000 miles
What’s good? The SubZero Down bodywarmer and I quickly became best friends this winter and for the last three months I haven’t been without it. It keeps my core toasty without filling up the sleeves of my jacket – leaving me with valuable space and flexibility in the arms. It looks puffy but my jacket goes over the top, which compresses the body warmer, and because it’s so light I forget I’m wearing it. So I get the warming goodness of a sleeping bag without the unwanted bulk. It does an absolutely brilliant job of trapping my core heat, it’s breathable, windproof and doesn’t make me sweaty like some thermals do. A light thermal top or jumper and this are all I need, both on and off the bike.
What’s not? Okay, so £109 is a tad pricy for a bodywarmer. It’s £10 more expensive than a competitor’s version but is half the weight and has a much higher fill of goose feathers, making it warmer. It does a fantastic job as an everyday jacket too, which makes it worth the money.
