Ducati sunglasses review: Be like Dovi

Ducati DA5001 sunglasses £149.00

Tested by: Michael Neeves

Time used: Five months

Few of us can ride like Dovi, but you can look as cool as him with these new shades. I’ve been wearing them over the summer and while it hasn’t improved my lap times, I’ve felt a lot faster…

They’re on the large side, so will suit those with bigger heads and as you’d expect from an official Ducati product they ooze quality, which goes some way to justifying the price. Light, comfortable and easy to wear, they have durable soft touch plastic arms and there’s a natty little red spring system, where they join the main frame, to keep them snug on your face and to limit the chance of them breaking.

‘Red fusion mirror’ lenses are crisp, clear and ooze MotoGP cool. They appear pink, red, orange, or all three, depending on the light and despite living in my rucksack and sometimes slipping out of their case, the glasses are durable and scratch-free.

All that’s left for me to do now is wait for the call from Gigi Dall'igna for that factory Grand Prix ride. At least I'll look the part.
