Glove review: Alpinestars GP Plus

Alpinestars GP Plus Gloves, £120
Miles covered/time:
10,000+/one year

What’s good? They have an excellent fit, and are not too tight across the hand (something which often blights my enjoyment of Alpinestars gloves).

The palms are really soft, and allow for excellent feel. I’ve worn these gloves nearly every time I’ve been on track this year.

Plenty of protection on the outside, which gives a secure feeling and the third and fourth finger are bridged together, a system pioneered by Alpinestars, and one which I have come to favour.

What’s not? They appeared really worn after a three-day track test, the palms of the gloves had become really rough. But they haven’t got any worse so I presume they were just bedding in.

The Velcro on the right wrist strap came off recently so they don’t fit 100% securely any more, which is annoying as they are my favourite racing glove.
