Glove review: Spyke SC308
Spyke SC308 Gloves, £69.99
Miles covered/time: 1000 miles/two weeks
What's good? The look. The white leather is eye catching, especially on the palm, and the short cut gives them a kind of unobtrusive, street-riding cool appeal. Once worn in they become reasonably comfy.
What's not? They're overpriced and they feel like two gloves stitched together. Poorly.
Spyke have started with a good, soft leather but the synthetic parts of the glove are abrasive and the finger/knuckle armour looks like it was cut badly and attached shoddily.
After two weeks the joins are already showing signs of wear. They're also a summer glove without ventilation, so you do tend to get a little sweaty in the heat. For £30 they'd be worth a go, but not for £70.
