Glove review: Hein Gericke Touring Classic Sheltex

Hein Gericke Touring Classic Sheltex glove, £59.99
Miles covered/time:
10,000/one year

What’s good? These gloves are robust and well-made leather items with a claimed windproof and waterproof Sheltex membrane.

They’ve been my winter gloves for the past season, and the gloves I reach for whenever it’s anything but sunny outside.

They have proved to be comfortable for all day riding and, with a soft leather construction, a protective cover on the knuckles and Velcro straps on the wrist, provide instant comfort and adequate protection. All in all, they’re affordable, decent winter gloves.

What’s not? They’re not utterly waterproof and tend to hold water when caught in an extreme downpour, but you could say that of most gloves. Could do with some reflective piping but perhaps that is just nit-picking.

Rating: 4/5
