Knox Zero Outdry
Knox Zero Outdry gloves, £130
Miles covered/time: Three months/2000 miles
What’s good: They are well built, look good and are waterproof.
What’s not: These are described as all season gloves; they aren’t. Not unless you live in California anyway. I wore these Knox gloves on multiple occasions in very cold conditions (below 6°C) and they are simply nowhere near warm enough. My hands were frozen very quickly.
They are also uncomfortable, to the point of giving me hand cramps after fewer than 30 miles, which seems to be something to do with the stiffness of the construction
Even with lots of wear they don’t seem to be breaking in fast enough. The hard plastic sliders on the palms make them hurt your hands by digging in.
The roller wheel wrist fastening is an answer to a question no-one asked; a triumph of style over function. And they’re bloody expensive. Not impressed at all.
