What’s good? I’m more than confident in the protective abilities of these Phantom II gloves, which are made mostly from kangaroo leather, with titanium knuckle protectors and stingray skin for extra protection on the palm. The lining of the gloves is supremely comfortable and none of the armour digs in, making them all-day comfortable. Despite being racey, they’re not overly vented, and as such can be used much longer than other race gloves I’ve used. Despite this they don’t make my hands sweat too much, either.
What’s not? They’re quite stiff at first, and it took a while for them to soften and give me the feel I was used to. While the huge cuffs offer plenty of protection, they do feel a little stiff. I’d like a little more adjustability in the cuffs, too. The little Velcro tab just doesn’t reach far enough for me.
