Product review: Held Arctic Evo
We tested these Held Arctic Evo gloves (£157.99) over three months, but what did we make of them?
What’s good? I wanted a pair of seriously warm and waterproof winter gloves, and in the Arctic Evo I’ve got them. An evolution of the German firm’s very popular Arctic glove, the Evo feature a plush fur lining backed up with Thinsulate thermal material, which is thicker on the back of the hand to help keep out chills, with thinner material underpinning the goatskin palm to boost feel. A membrane of waterproof/breathable Gore-Tex runs between the thermal layer and the Superfabric outer, while soft Sas-Tec provides impact protection without sacrificing comfort. The Arctic Evo have gone straight in as my new favourite winter gloves, simply because they’re warm and they work. They’re bliss for my hands.
What’s not? They’re not cheap, but they it all... even a visor wipe on the lefthand index finger, and touchscreen-sensitive leather at the finger tips.
