MCN Biking Britain survey: Top 10 most comfortable helmets

More than 12,000 of you have given us your opinions on the kit you use and the bikes you ride in the MCN Biking Britain survey.

This week, we’re focusing on how comfortable your helmets are.

Here's the top ten most comfortable helmets, as rated by you:

1. Shoei X-Spirit, £475-£530
SHARP rating: 4
The X-Spirit is the choice of helmet for quite a few top level racers. The visor is quick release and can be locked into place, the chin strap is a double D-ring, it has a full ventilation system and removable and washable liner. The shell is a fibreglass and carbon mix.

2. Arai RX-7 GP, £524.99-£589.99
The GP is Arai’s latest helmet, only launched at the end of last year. But already MCN readers have rated the lid worn by the likes of Dani Pedrosa and Nicky Hayden to a high standard. Changes from the RX7 Corsair include a strengthened chin bar, larger opening to make removing and putting the helmet on easier and a drag-reducing five-position airwing.

3. Arai Viper GT, £349.99-£429.99
SHARP rating: 3
The Viper GT is a favourite amongst many, notably because the colour range is huge. The lid features a breath deflector, a Pinlock ready visor, removable and washable cheek pads and lining and a recently revamped ventilation system with a three-way extractor system on the back.

4. Arai Chaser, £309.99-£359.99
