Kit review: Arai Tour-X

Arai Tour-X, £354.99 (plain white)
Miles covered/time:
1500/two months
What's good? I've worn this when testing adventure bikes and supermotos and if you remove the visor you can wear it with goggles and use it off-road, too. It's very versatile and I think is cool-looking. I thought the wind would get under the peak and try and yank the helmet up at speed, but it doesn't and I'm surprised that's it's actually quieter than the Arai RX-7 GP I usually wear. You get fewer fly splats on the visor too thanks to that peak and it's very comfortable. I've got a Rich Art paintjob, which is as good as any of Arai's factory-finished lids. Rich Art charge £480 for this design.
What's not? With its retaining screws and fiddly plastic retaining pieces, changing the visor is a bit of a balancing act and tricky to do.
