Helmet Review: Shark Race-R Pro Stinger
Shark Race-R Pro Stinger, £449
Time tested: 12,000 miles
What’s good? A helmet is one of the most important investments when it comes to my enjoyment of riding bikes. I need peace of mind that the helmet will keep you safe, if the worst should happen. I also want to know that I’ll not be stopping every 20 minutes because it’s rubbing or pressing in odd places and causing pain. This helmet serves both those points very well with a five-star Sharp safety test rating and duck-down duvet levels of comfort.
What’s not? The ear pad parts of the liner fall out occasionally (it could just be my massive ears). A magnet on the end of the securing strap keeps the excess tidy, but it lacks the strength to hold it in place if a jacket collar pushes against it. I’d prefer a small loop to thread it through.
