HJC R-PHA10 helmet, £284.99
Time tested: 20000/two years
What’s good? This helmet’s been under my desk for a lot of this year as it’s a couple of years old, but I pulled it out of retirement for the long days of the Tunisia trip. It’s one of the comfiest helmets I’ve worn and it still fits snugly, with room for my glasses. The visor changing mechanism is incredibly fast and simple and it has a Pinlock anti-mist visor.
What’s not? Towards the end of the two-week trip my ears were starting to hurt due to the stems of my glasses being pressed against them. And here’s an odd one, on the V-Strom with a taller accessory screen fitted, my face gets wet when it rains. I think the rain flies off the bottom of the screen and somehow goes up the inside the chinbar of the helmet.
