Product Review: BMW GS Trophy helmet (£450)
What’s good about the BMW GS Trophy helmet?
The GS helmet is at the top end of the adventure helmet market and has a quality feel as well as the versatility to work well in both on or off-road functions. The peak, visor and chinbar are removable depending on the type of riding you will be doing. It’s well also well ventilated and comes with a Pinlock insert as standard so fogging problems don’t plague you on wetter or cold days.
And what’s not?
On longer journeys it can put light pressure on the top of my forehead. It’s bearable now, though it was slightly painful before the helmet was bedded in. The chin curtain has a tendency to pop loose if I yawn when I’m riding – not are major issue, but still slightly annoying. I’m also disappointed you can’t get a tinted visor for the helmet in the UK (though they do supply them in other countries).
