Our team is getting younger by the day, Bodhi Child (son of Senior Road Tester, Adam Child) has tested KTM Kids Dynamic-FX lid for the last 12 months.
Even though my son Bodhi is only three, he loves his ‘big boy’ lid, it makes him look just like dad. As his riding progressed, we needed something more secure and substantial than his Kiddimoto helmet, which wasn’t designed to be used on a motorbike/OSET.
We wanted something secure, safe, with a brand we trust and the KTM Dynamic FX-Helmet is just that. At 1250g it’s not too heavy and the helmet edge is designed to work with a neck brace, should he want to in the future. The cheek pads and inner liner are removable and washable. The peak is also adjustable. It fits him snugly, but isn’t too claustrophobic.
He loves it and thinks it looks cool - just like the guys racing Arenacross. At just over £150 it’s not breaking the bank, yet it feels quality and after more than a year’s use, it still looks good.
I personally prefer the Double-D ring fastener, but Bodhi hasn’t got the knack of it yet. It’s a bit fiddly, especially for a three-year-old.
This means he’s can’t fasten and remove the lid himself. A click fastener may have been more suitable for a kid’s helmet. But, as a concerned parent, I prefer the security of the D-ring. .
