Product review: Forcefield Sport-Lite L1 back protector

Forcefield Sport-Lite L1 back protector, £84.99
Miles covered/time: 12,000 miles/two years
What’s good: After the first few rides with the Sport-Lite it becomes almost unnoticeable – it is as it says – light – and the shoulder straps and waistband give you plenty of adjustment.
What’s not: The back protector is designed to mould to the shape of your back as your body heat warms it, unfortunately it’s never moulded to my back and I just end up with a very sweaty back on most lengthy rides.
On every type of bike I’ve ridden, from sports bikes to nakeds the back protector rides up and digs into the bottom of my neck. Tightening or loosening the shoulder straps and waistband never seems to have any effect on this. When you purchase a back protector make sure it’s the perfect fit to avoid this. Despite all this I wear it everywhere purely because it feels like it will perform should I crash.
