Leather suit review: Arlen Ness Racing suit Kangaroo titanium

1 of 1

Cost: £799.99 in the MCN shop

Miles covered/time: 4500/18 months

What’s good: This is the second titanium race suit I’ve had from Arlen Ness and I rate it highly. I crashed Max Biaggi’s Alstare Suzuki at the end of the 2007 WSB season wearing my first set.

In the crash I did some serious rolling and apart from a broken wrist didn’t get grazed or cut. The titanium outer armour did its job and crumpled on impact, saving my knees and elbows heavier impacts.

Despite the slide the structure and stitching of the suit is completely intact. My second set has been used on various track days, road and race tests and are still a pleasure to put on. Flexibility is good but the overall feeling is of security. This is a serious suit with serious protection.

What’s not: Removable mesh liner can ruche up, especially when you are hot and your arms are sweaty.
