Miles covered/time: 3000/six months
What's good: With this combination you get all the protection and ease of movement of a racing suit, with the practicality of two-piece leathers. The jacket and trousers are made from supple 1.3mm full-grain leather and supplied with a removable mesh lining and protective elbow, shoulder and knee/shin armour. I've worn them in long trips and at trackdays, where they've proved to be very comfortable. I use the jacket on its own for short blasts. Thanks to strategically-placed stretch panels it's exceedingly accomodating. In all, the Alpinestars suit's very well made, stylish and I really love the classy satin black finish.
What's not: You need to perform an 'Oops upside your head' dance to get the trousers zipped up to the jacket. The forearms are quite tight, which OK for my skinny arms, so you may struggle if you're Popeye.
