Alpinestars El Nino waterproofs, £89.99
Miles covered/time: 1500miles/three years
What’s good: They are completely waterproof which is handy as that is their only aim. I always find it incredibly disappointing when a one-use motorcycle garment fails to perform but there is no such worry with this one-piece waterproof oversuit. Some of the rides I have worn these Alpinestars El Nino waterproofs on could almost be classed as jetskiing but they have never let in a single drop of water. They go on easily and they reflective panels make them extremely visible. Outside pockets are easily accessible and stay dry, too.
What’s not: I managed to rip one of the belt loops after getting stuck inside the suit when I was travelling back from Germany and the rain stopped. Without anyone there to help me I got the lining caught on the shoulder armour of my leathers and had to resort to brute force to escape. They are a little expensive when compared to rivals.
