Jacket review: Bering Shelby

1 of 1

Bering Shelby jacket, £327.99
Time owned:
Two months

What's good? The Knox armour in the shoulders and elbows is very comfy and fits perfectly to my frame (lanky, slight). It’s one of the thickest leather jackets I’ve worn and as such can be worn more often than most, but it still manages to keep me relatively cool when it is hot – although nowhere near as much as a fully-vented jacket.

The leather feels fairly substantial and plush making it extremely comfortable. Even the first time I wore it, it didn’t feel too stiff, as some leather jackets do. The styling is spot on for me. Simple and fairly understated, it could easily be worn on any type of bike from a sports bike to a British classic.

What's not? The elasticated cuff on the liner rolls up when I take the jacket off which can get a little annoying when I come to put it back on. With the thermal lining removed the lining of the jacket itself doesn’t feel all that nice on your skin – it irritates a little.
