What’s good? This light coloured textile kit is a real change to the normal, drab and dark kit I wear, with some little bits of blue detailing it’s really stylish. With our ever changing weather it’s proved to be waterproof and with the double zip on the jacket it’s definitely draughtproof. I’ve removed the thermal lining as it’s a bit bulky but this leaves plenty of room to wear a couple of thinner layers if needed. The waterproof lining that remains is secured with poppers and zips, it’s never moved or twisted when riding. For the warmer rides the two-way zip on the arms and vents on the thighs have meant that I’ve not overheated. At 5ft 10in tall and with a 34-inch inside leg it was great to have the choice of more than one length of trousers, having trousers that don’t ride up is great.
What’s not? There’s only a couple of minor gripes and they really are minor. The pockets on the trousers don’t have any fasteners so I need to be mindful what I put in them. The neck arrangement is a little fiddly and cumbersome for me, it’s a flap secured by poppers and velcro, when it’s done up it feels a bit restrictive. The two lengths of connecting zip are not needed, it would be better to have just one to choose from.
