Product Review: ARMR Moto Hirama jacket and Katsura trousers
ARMR Moto Hirama jacket, £119.99 and Katsura trousers, £109.99
Time tested: Three months/2000 miles
What’s good? I wore this suit when I joined the MCN team for a journey to eastern Germany for the Elephant Rally, riding there on 125cc bikes. This budget textile suit remained warm and dry, despite the cold and wet conditions and the good fit meant it didn’t restrict movement in my arms and legs, which was particularly important when riding small bikes as I’m 6ft 1in tall, so I’m not built for smaller bikes. The trousers particularly impressed me for their warmth as I’ve often found that others will leave me with cold knees. The jacket also kept me very warm in testing conditions and the thermal linings are removable so I will be able to take them out for riding on warmer days, so it’s a versatile suit.
What’s not? The jacket comes with a wind deflector attachment for the neck, which is a good addition to have, but it is awkward to secure once the jacket is on, as the fixings are on the back of the neck. The pockets are also quite small on the jacket and I would have preferred more room for my stuff on the trip.
