What’s good about the Wolf Spirit leather jacket?
The Spirit definitely looks the part. The leather has a rich, attractive colour and feels heavyweight and tough, the removable cotton lining is nicely quilted if a little thin. Metal zips, triple-stitched seams, CE-approved armour and a £250 pricetag all adds up to a good value bike jacket you could wear down the pub.
And what’s not?
As I’m 6ft 4in I opted for a chest size of 48in. This provides a good length for me in both body and sleeves, but the overall cut isn’t particularly fitted on my 15-stone frame. The shoulders are broad and the jacket hangs off me a little, the sleeves are slightly baggy too. The removable lining isn’t well attached to the bottom of the jacket (it’s zipped around top and sides), it lacks a central anchor point so has a tendency to ruck up on my back as I pull the jacket on. The zipped cuffs are a good, draft-free fit around the wrist. The shoulder and elbow armour is unobtrusive but with a baggy sleeve I doubt it would stay in place in a crash either. If you’re the right body shape the Spirit is well worth a look.
