Product review: Alpinestars Stella T-Jaws V2 Air Textile jacket

1 of 2

I reviewed this Alpinestars Stella T-Jaws V2 Air Textile jacket (worth around £199.99) over one month, covering 2800 miles.

With temperatures in excess of 30°C on a recent riding holiday to Venice, I’d have melted without this jacket which is made from lightweight textile with mesh panels covering around a third of the chest, torso, back and arms. It’s pretty airy but a removable liner acts as a windcheater when required.

There are Velcro adjusters at the hip, which ensure a comfortable and snug fit while the jacket has a sporty look and I like the colour combination of black with white flashes, some of which are reflective for night rides. The white panels do get dirty, quite quickly but I have put it through the wash and it came up like new.

Alpinestars mesh lining in pocket

There is a small connecting zip to join it to riding jeans, CE shoulder, elbow armour are included, and there is a pocket to hold a back protector.
