Book review: Modern Motorcycle Technology
Modern Motorcycle Technology, £17.99
What’s good? Ever wondered what a 3D map of a fuel injection system looks like? Or perhaps puzzled over how a gearbox works? Then this is the book for you.
Despite being A5(ish) in size and a slim-line 238 pages, Modern Motorcycle Technology manages to clearly explain just about every part of a motorcycle, leaping from the basic principles of the four-stroke cycle to airbox technology and slipper clutches at the turn of a few pages.
It’s an excellent reference book and packed full of nuggets of information your wife will find fascinating.
What’s not? A complete beginner may struggle as there’s some assumed knowledge but in a book this small that’s understandable.
More disappointingly there’s no mention of traction control and electronically adjustable suspension making it already out of date. There’s no index either, which is frustrating.
