Product review: ACF-50 Anti-corrosion spray

ACF-50 Anti-corrosion spray, £14
Miles covered/time:
4000/four months

What’s good: British winters are chemically perfect to strip a bike of lustre, condition and value as the road salt used to keep ice at bay eats its way into metal surfaces. ACF-50 spray is not.

ACF-50 started as a corrosion treatment for aircraft and is used by the US Airforce and aircraft manufacturers around the world. As long as you keep it away from brakes and tyres the stuff gives miraculous results.

You have to make sure the can is warm enough to spray correctly but after that just spray it everywhere to create a barrier against the road grime and salt.

After applying it, each subsequent bike wash is easier and less time-consuming. So far, nothing has touched my bike this winter.

What’s not: Nothing I can think of. The results make the price decent value for money.
