Under Armour ColdGear Tactical Hood, £22
Miles covered/time: 800 miles/18 months
What’s good: Under Armour products – once the preserve of outdoor types – are becoming increasingly popular with us motorcyclists, and the firm even does its own set of Leon Haslam gear. Their range of motorcycle base layers, of which this is a part, have proved massively beneficial in keeping me warm through the winter on my 140-mile daily commute. This hood not only provides a windproof and insulating barrier for the face, but it’s really comfortable and also comes down below the neckline, ensuring the gap between helmet and jacket is bridged. Highly recommended.
What’s not: Considering it negates the need for a neck warmer, and keeps the rest of your head toasty, I’d put my hand on heart and say it’s bloody faultless.
